Waldron Bags Rd7 Of The 360 Power Series In another close finish Jodi Waldron has secured round seven of the Chamberlain’s Auto Electrics 360 Sprintcar Power Series at Pithara Speedway last night. Waldron drove a faultless race to hold off Daniel Hawkins who had tried everything to get past but was just unable to make the high line stick. Third place went to Bill Stocks who pressured Hawkins throughout the back half of the race. It was a great night for the Blackman Fabrication sponsored team with team car Rob Willis rounding out the top four after slipping by Jason Boland on the final lap. It was an extra special for the Blackman team duo as they were also racing as part of the Rolly Blackman memorial. Stocks was already showing strong improvement at Pithara and held second from a fast finishing Wade Randall. Rob Willis started his campaign off strongly with another second for the Blackman Team and Kalgoorlie flyer Dean Terry third. Even a re-start didn’t slow him and again he pulled a clear lead and really showed he was up for the task. It was a good result for Mewett upon his return to Pithara who was being chased by Daniel Hawkins all the way. Heat 3 Finishing 68 Waldron 55 Mewett 54 Hawkins 60 Terry 30 Ahchee 37 Lucas DNF 52 Anderson Heat 4 What a great effort from Steve Adley to fight off a very determined Cale Sotiroff for the heat 4 win, Adley has improved significantly over the past few meetings and a heat win was a great reward for his hard efforts. Sotiroff didn’t make it easy and Adley had to fight all the way for the win. Rob Willis rounded out the top three. Heat 4 Finishing 9 Adley 76 Sotiroff 46 Willis 64 Stocks 81 Boland 84 Randall 43 Maiolo When Darren Mewett raced at round two of the series at Pithara he had a terrible night with engine problems and he was confident it wouldn’t occur again at round 7. Mewett muscled his way to the lead and set about establishing a good lead but as the race wore on Stocks started reeling Mewett in and when the chequer fell Mewett took the win from a close Stocks and Hawkins had grabbed another handful of crucial points in third. Steve Adley had a gentle roll and he parked up on the infield. Finishing 55 Mewett 64 Stocks 54 Hawkins 84 Randall 46 Willis DNF 9 Adley Points leader Cale Sotiroff was keen for a win and to start on the front row for the feature and the young gun didn’t not disappoint. After a short arm wrestle with Waldron and Sotiroff gained several car lengths that he held ahead of Waldron to the end and Dean Terry finished again in third.
